Educators & Art: A Summer Self-Care Series

This summer the Florence County Museum’s Education Department invites educators of all content areas to recharge, create, reflect, and explore through an art class designed just for them. Explore printmaking, watercolor, observational drawing, illustrated reflective journaling and arts-based mindfulness practices. No arts experience is required! Each week will feature a different theme using current exhibitions and outdoor spaces as points of inspiration. This program is open to all K-12 educators, support staff and school administration professionals.

Facilitated by artist and arts therapist Elizabeth Graham Anderson, participants will be exposed to strategies she uses in her practice when working with students and adults. Elizabeth earned a Bachelor of Science degree in art education from Francis Marion in 2014. While at Francis Marion her studies focused on creative writing and fine art. She received her Master of Science degree in Art Therapy from the FSU Department of Art Education in 2021 and is a current doctoral candidate in the FSU Art Therapy Program. Before entering the field of art therapy, she was an art educator.

Meets weekly on Thursdays June 6 through July 18 from 5:00 to 6:30 pm with a July 4 break.

Limited to 12 participants per session
$10 per session
$50 to attend all 6
