CALE: A NASCAR LEGEND takes a look at the life of local sports icon, Cale Yarborough. Using a selection of artifacts, photos, personal objects on loan from Mr. Yarborough, and the NASCAR Hall of Fame, museum visitors are guided through the major turning points and accomplishments of Cale’s career in the professional world of competitive stock car racing.
Yarborough rose from humble beginnings in rural Timmonsville, SC, gradually gaining national celebrity status in the 1960s and ‘70s with a series of record-breaking achievements and dramatic victories at the tracks of Darlington and Daytona.
The Florence County Museum is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday form 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Sunday, 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Admission is always free.
The exhibition is on display in the Special Exhibit Gallery through December 11, 2016.
